Community Support Service

Project called "Community Support Service" is funded from the National Programme for Croatia under the IPA – Transition Assistance and Institution Building Component for 2009 (under Civil Society Facility); Building Capacities of the CSOs for Monitoring and Advocacy in the Field of Democratization, Human Rights, Minority Integration and Sustainable Refugee Return in the Areas of Special State Concern.

Partners of the Croatian Red Cross in the project are: City of Knin, Women’s action group Ruza Glina, Centre for Social Welfare Senj Branch Otocac and UNHCR. The project started on 12 January 2012 and will end on 11 January 2014.

Overall objective of the action is to strengthen the capacity of the Croatian Red Cross (CRC) to support, advocate and implement policies related to sustainable refugee return and social inclusion of vulnerable groups in the Areas of Special State Concern, in accordance with EU standards.

Main activities include: social services provided to returnees by three outreach mobile teams; cleaning of water wells in Glina area; establishment of social councils, their regular meetings and follow up actions; two trainings on non-violence and reconciliation and weekly social and educational activities in Red Cross premises.
